Date of visit: Sunday July 23rd Good BBQ joint with a cool vibe. We visit a lot of BBQ joints as it is one of our favourite types of cuisine. We are always looking for new places to try wherever we go. While in Caledonia during dinner time, we noticed a BBQ restaurant that we hadn’t noticed before. When we arrived it was not very busy – we entered through the back entrance. The menu has many of the classic barbecue restaurant items – brisket, wings, corn bread, mac & cheese, etc. We had the Brisket, with mac & cheese and corn bread; fried chicken and waffles; and the pork ribs with mac & cheese and slaw. All food items were very good. There was nothing bad in the lot. Were they the best we have ever had - NO...but they were still all very good. I would definitely come back. The service was very good. Prices were very reasonable. The restaurant is very large – with plenty of seating. They have a stage for bands to perform, and a full service bar. There is a parking lot out back and street parking – if available.

I had the pull pork poutin, it was tasty, however, it was a very large portion. The good part is it's already served in a to-go container.. but it was too much food. The fries will be soggy by the time I re-heat it, and it will not be as good. Aside from that. I recommend it. Love the murals.

First visit to The real hammer hogs bbq was great. I had a feature burger from the menu and it was well put together. Staff were friendly and helpful during my visit and were open to any feedback. This is a good location to watch sports and have a few drinks also as there were a few people that came just for this. Good vibe and atmosphere. Happy travels

So we tried this place for the first time and was a little skeptical because of some of the recent reviews but we thought we would give it a Try anyway. The food was good and arrived in a timely fashion. Wait staff were great even though we read they were awful. Very friendly and food was good. Would definitely eat hear again. Also enjoyed the atmosphere

Nice place to grab a burger and fries. The food was good but nothing special. Lots of locals in the bar which is nice to see them supporting their local bars. We ordered the following: burgers and poutine - overcooked smashed patties pulled pork quesadillas - made my son feel sick tater tots - large portions and tasty
